BREAKFAST AT GANDUM

Starting the day off right is half the battle.

At Gandum, breakfast is not just an add-on to your stay. It is part of the experience. No exaggeration. No hidden processed foods. With time, clear origins, and authentic flavor.

What you find on the table

Naturally leavened bread

Handcrafted by local bakers. Crispy crust, moist crumb, deep flavor. Serve with butter, olive oil, or jams made in our kitchen.

Seasonal fruit

Harvested on the property or sourced from local producers. No strawberries in January. No flavorless fruit.

Eggs from our chickens

Happy chickens, serious eggs. Scrambled, fried, or however you like them. Produced on the farm.

Artisanal cheeses and yogurts

Selected from small producers in Alentejo. Cow's milk yogurt from Elvas, plant-based versions, and organic cheese from the region.

Local delicatessen

No unnecessary additives. Regional production.

Homemade sweets

Jams sweetened only with organic honey (Mel Pirata, Montemor-o-Novo). Carob and hazelnut cream made in our kitchen. Nut butters without preservatives.

Granola and seeds

Produced in Gandum with whole ingredients and simple superfoods: chia, flaxseed, raw cocoa.

Coffee and tea

Organic coffee. Gorreana tea from the Azores. Fresh herbal teas harvested from our garden.

No dramatization. With discretion.

In Alentejo today, many of the things we eat no longer come from here. We have chosen a different approach. If something can be made here, we make it here. If it can come from nearby, it comes from nearby. If it has to come from far away, we explain why.

Transparent provenance

Because saying "local" is not enough.
