ROOM INFORMATION
Hello and welcome to Gandum.
Gandum is a rural retreat covering 14 hectares, nestled among agroforestry, olive groves, and cork oak trees. It is a place designed for family vacations, business trips, or peaceful stays, where modern comforts coexist with the serenity of the countryside.
Here, children can play freely while you relax, work in the coworking space, or simply enjoy your time. At the Provenance restaurant, we invite you to discover local products and honest cuisine, in tune with nature and the rhythm of the seasons.
At Gandum, we have brought together the best of both worlds: comfortable spaces designed for relaxation and a natural environment that invites you to explore, slow down, and stay. We want you to feel good in your room and enjoy everything around you, creating memories and experiencing the place at a leisurely pace.
This guide was created to help you find your way around Gandum and gather the essential information for a peaceful stay. We hope you feel at home and come back whenever you feel like it.

1. INSIDE THE ROOMS
PILLOWS
The double beds have two types of pillows: a softer one made of feathers and down, and a firmer, denser one made of natural latex. If you would like to change your pillow or request an extra pillow, please contact the front desk.
AMENITIES
At Gandum, we use the Portuguese brand of amenities 8950, which incorporates authentic aromas from local plants in the Algarve region. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion are available in the bathroom dispensers. If you need accessories such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, cotton buds, or a shower cap, you can request them at Reception. These and other products are also available for purchase in our store.
AIR CONDITIONING
All rooms and apartments are equipped with air conditioning, with adjustable temperature according to your preference.
To turn it on, press the button at the top of the small screen until you see ON, then select the desired temperature using the "+" and "-" symbols. To turn it off, simply press the button at the top of the small screen again until OFF appears.
SAFE
IN ROOMS 21 to 38
Rooms 21 to 38 are equipped with a key safe, located inside the wardrobe. To use the safe, simply request the key at Reception.
SAFETY DEPOSIT BOXES IN HOUSES 1, 2, and 3
Houses 1, 2, and 3 have a safe inside the wardrobe, which is open upon the guest's arrival. To use the safe, follow these steps:
Slide the battery cover inside slightly;
Press the reset button (A);
Program a code of your choice (from 4 to 8 digits) and then press #.
When you turn the latch, the safe will be operational with the chosen code.
RESPONSIBILITY
Gandum Village is not responsible for money, jewelry, or other valuables that are not placed in the safe deposit service available at the Reception.
ROOM CLEANING
Rooms and apartments are cleaned daily. Bed linen and towels are changed on the third day of your stay. If you would like your bed linen or towels changed before this, please leave the towels on the floor after use.
WIRELESS INTERNET
To access the internet, connect to the free access network "GUEST" and authenticate by accepting the terms and conditions. No password is required.
HOME KITCHENETTES
The kitchenettes in the houses are equipped with a microwave, electric kettle, plates, glasses, and cutlery. If you need other kitchen utensils, you can request them at the reception. We cannot guarantee the availability of all items, but we will do our best to help.
WASTE AND RECYCLING
The rooms and houses have a waste separation system, with all bins properly labeled.
In the kitchenette, under the sink, you will find containers for recycling glass, paper, and plastic and metal packaging. We appreciate your cooperation in placing each type of waste in the appropriate container.
We ask that you pay special attention to organic waste, which is collected in the bin on the counter. This bin is only for biodegradable waste, such as food scraps, fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds, and tea bags. Avoid placing plastics, glass, metals, chemicals, aluminum foil, or non-biodegradable items such as diapers and personal hygiene products in this container to ensure proper decomposition of waste and the effectiveness of the composting process.
All waste from rooms and houses is collected daily. Organic waste, after composting, is used as natural fertilizer in our agroforests.
FURNITURE, TEXTILES AND ILLUSTRATIONS
At Gandum, we value Portuguese companies that share the same work ethic as ours. For this reason, all textiles, from bedding to bath towels, are produced in Portugal using organic cotton.
The furniture, both indoor and outdoor, is mostly created and produced in Portugal by designers, artisans, and companies that share our values. Whenever it is not produced in Portugal, we select quality European companies that follow the same principles.

We invest carefully to offer high quality at a fair price. In the event of damage to furniture or decorative items, the cost of repair will be charged to the customer. We appreciate your understanding.
NO SMOKING
Smoking is prohibited inside rooms and houses, in any room.
To smoke, please use the outdoor areas of the rooms or houses, where ashtrays are provided. There are also ashtrays distributed throughout various areas of Gandum. Please do not throw cigarette butts on the ground. In addition to polluting, this behavior is dangerous and can compromise everyone's safety, posing a fire hazard.

All rooms and houses have a telephone that can be used to contact Reception or other rooms.
To contact Reception, dial 222.
To contact another room, dial 2 followed by the room number.
If you need to make calls to external numbers, please contact Reception, who will forward the call.
TELEVISION
All apartments are equipped with a television. To use it, turn on the remote control. After turning it on, it may take up to 25 seconds for the image to appear on the screen.

ADAPTERS AND VOLTAGE
The local voltage is 220/240 V; 50 Hz.

BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served in the restaurant or on the outdoor terrace between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. For more information about breakfast, please see the page dedicated to this service.
LUNCH, DINNER, SNACKS, AND BAR
Lunch — from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Dinner — from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Bar (snacks and drinks) — daily, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

PETS
At Gandum Village, we accept pets for an additional fee, namely dogs and cats. Animals must be well-behaved and comply with the rules of good coexistence. It is essential that they never roam freely within the space.

LAUNDRY

MINI BAR
The rooms and houses have a small refrigerator, available for use during your stay.
ROBES AND SLIPPERS
If you would like bathrobes or slippers and these are not available in your room, you can request them at Reception.
If you particularly like the bathrobes or slippers and would like to take them with you, please ask at Reception about the conditions of purchase.
2. Outside the bedroom
RECEPTION
The reception desk is open from 8:00 a.m. to midnight.
If you require any information outside these hours, you can contact Reception on 266 079 000 or on extension 222.
ACTIVITIES
Bicycles, walking trails, and visits to the bees are among the experiences available at Gandum.

BAGGAGE
The reception has a secure area where you can leave your luggage for a few hours if necessary.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is until 12:00 PM.
If you wish to check in early or check out late, please check availability with Reception. Late check-out without prior confirmation may incur an additional fee.
LOST AND FOUND
If you have lost any personal belongings anywhere in Gandum, or found an item that may belong to another guest, please contact Reception.
POOLS
If there is no pool towel in your room, you can pick one up at La Terrace bar, next to the pool, or at Reception.
The swimming pools are open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Please do not use the towels from the rooms at the pool. Pool towels must be returned to the place where they were picked up.
COWORKING
The coworking space has 12 shared desk spaces and two soundproof booths.
It is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Prices can be found on the website or at Reception.
MEETING ROOM
The meeting room, located on the ground floor of the Coworking building, is suitable for team meetings, workshops, and presentations. It can accommodate 25 to 40 people, depending on the arrangement of tables and chairs.

TRANSFER AND CAB SERVICES
The hotel can arrange a shuttle service or call a taxi. For this purpose, please contact the front desk.
ELECTRIC CARS
There is currently one charging station for electric vehicles at Gandum. Plans are in place to expand this infrastructure in the short to medium term. To find out the location of the station and unlock it for charging, please contact Reception.

ENTRANCE GATE
The hotel entrance gate closes at 10:00 PM. You can always leave Gandum; the gate opens automatically if you need to exit. After this time, you will need a code to enter Gandum. The gate code is provided at check-in. If necessary, please contact the front desk.
3. CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN GANDUM
At Gandum, playing is a very serious matter. That's why we've created spaces, activities, and freedom for children to truly enjoy themselves. And parents too. Still, it's important that children are never left unsupervised by an adult.
CHILDREN
The hotel provides cribs, high chairs, and acrylic tableware for children. Some of these items may incur additional charges. For more information, please contact the front desk.
BABYSITTING
The hotel can arrange babysitting services upon prior request. We recommend that you make your request at least 24 hours in advance at the front desk.
SWIMMING POOL FOR THE LITTLE ONES
Next to the main pool there is a smaller, shallower pool with warmer water, designed for children.
CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND
There is a playground on the other side of the Gandum stream, suitable for children aged 3 to 12. Children can and should always play under adult supervision.
BALLS AND TABLE TENNIS
The basketball and soccer field can be used by requesting game balls at the front desk. Table tennis rackets and balls are also available upon request at the front desk.
OTHER ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
Gandum promotes children's entertainment activities throughout the year. To find out more about the activities available during your stay, please contact Reception or visit the Activities page on our website.
BABY CHANGING ROOM
Baby changing facilities are available in the restaurant bathrooms and in the changing rooms in the pool area next to the restaurant.
MENUS FOR CHILDREN
Our menus are designed for children, with several options available.
We do not have a specific kitchen for preparing allergen-free food. If you have any dietary restrictions, please inform Reception so that we can adjust our offerings as much as possible.
4. IMPROPER USE
In order to guarantee the quality of our services and the comfort of all guests, we ask that all items, equipment, and furniture in the rooms, houses, and other areas of the hotel be used with care and responsibility.
THEFT
All items in the apartments and other areas of the hotel are the property of Gandum Village. Any item that is permanently removed will be considered theft. In such cases, the guest will be charged the replacement value of the missing item.
MISUSE AND DAMAGE
All equipment, furniture, and decorative items must be used diligently and exclusively for their intended purpose.
In the event of misuse or damage to the infrastructure, any equipment, furniture, or decorative elements, the respective repair, replacement, or maintenance costs will be charged.
The cost of repairing any material damage will be calculated based on a rate of €30 + VAT per hour, at the legal rate in force of 23%.
RESPONSIBILITY
By making a reservation, guests accept the terms of this policy and authorize the hotel to charge the corresponding amounts using the payment method agreed upon with the hotel.
