WALKING TOURS IN MONTEMOR-O-NOVO
Walking is one of the best ways to get to know the Alentejo. Without rushing, without noise, at the pace of the landscape. Around Gandum Village there are several marked walking trails that cross woodlands, farmlands, streams, villages, and old work and migration paths.
These trails, organized and maintained in the municipality of Montemor-o-Novo, allow you to explore the region on foot, in direct contact with nature and the territory. There are short and long routes, some flat and others with some elevation, ideal for a peaceful walk at the start of the day or for a whole morning outdoors.

Montado Ecologist (PR01)
“This was a train route surrounded by nature: agricultural products and people came; other people went in search of new lives. Nowadays, it is possible to travel this route in a healthy way, admiring the landscapes of the Montemor countryside.” Find out more here
BETWEEN THE VILLAGE AND THE VALLEY OF FOROS DE VALE DE FIGUEIRA (PR03)

FROM THE VILLAGE OF LAVRE TO PONTE VELHA (PR05/5.1)
The village of Lavre is the highlight of a set of two routes that cover the most emblematic places in the parish. The Ribeira Trail, PR05, descends towards the Ribeira de Lavre, crossing small farms and traditional olive groves, where it follows a leafy riverside gallery on a route of great beauty alongside the watercourse. The Fontes Trail, PR5.1, which is shorter, takes you on a tour of the main points of cultural interest in the village's tangible and intangible heritage." Find out more here
LAVRE CORK FORESTS ON THE CORK TRAILS (PR06)
