walking tours in the region

  • PR01 - Assembly Copier

"This was a train route that was surrounded by nature: agricultural products and people came; other people went in search of new lives. Today, it's possible to make the journey in a healthy way, admiring the landscapes of the Montemor countryside."

  • PR03 - BETWEEN THE VILLAGE AND THE VALLEY OF FOROS DE VALE DE FIGUEIRA

"The wide agricultural fields around the village extend, with areas of cultivation and cork oak forest. Connected to the village, in parcels, a huge patch of eucalyptus trees, torn by the river valley, gives rise to varied habitats and forest landscapes."

  • PR04 - MONTEMOR OLIVE GROVES AND MONTADOS

"Montemor-o-Novo's geographical location guarantees easy access by any road. Surrounding the white houses is a large area of green pastures, olive groves and rich cork oak forests."

  • PR05/5.1 - FROM THE VILLAGE OF LAVRE TO PONTE VELHA

"The village of Lavre is the highlight of a set of two routes that take in the most emblematic places in the parish. The Ribeira Trail, PR05, descends towards the Ribeira de Lavre, crossing small farms and traditional olive groves, where it follows a leafy riparian gallery on a highly beautiful route alongside the watercourse. The shorter Trilho das Fontes, PR5.1, takes you along the main points of cultural interest in the town's tangible and intangible heritage."

  • PR06 - CORTIÇADAS DE LAVRE ON THE CORK TRAILS

"A forested area. It runs between cork oaks and pine trees that coexist with the undergrowth typical of the moorland. Along the way, you can see human occupation in the form of small rural spaces and restored ancestral dwellings."

  • PR07 - MONFURADO MOUNTAIN RANGE IN SANTIAGO DO ESCOURAL

"A trail of varied landscapes, starting from the farms on the outskirts of Santiago do Escoural to the forest areas with riparian galleries along the water lines. In the heart of the Monfurado Natura 2000 SCI."

  • PR08 - LARGOS CAMPOS DE SÃO CRISTÓVÃO

"São Cristóvão is located on the right bank of the stream of the same name and takes us back to the legendary figure of the giant who carried people on his back and also carried Christ. The fields around the village are as far as the eye can see."

  • PR09 - MONTADOS DE CABRELA

"Dehesa landscapes, historic hills and the Ribeira de Safira form a mosaic of beauty and ecological importance, with the strawberry tree standing out. The town of Cabrela is the gateway to this natural treasure of the Alentejo."

  • PR10 - FROM KM 500 OF THE N2 TO THE ATABUEIRA DAM

"The fields of Ciborro stretch out in seemingly endless grandeur, with a privileged viewpoint at the top of the village. Between the farmland and the cork oak forest, the Atabueira Dam appears as an oasis of green banks, teeming with wildlife and reflected in the waters."
